The first step in installing a simple antivirus software for PC is downloading the software. Once the program is downloaded, double-click on it to begin the installation process. The installer will guide you through the steps required to install the program. This includes confirming the terms and conditions and selecting where the antivirus is saved on your computer. Depending on the program it is possible that you require a registration key or register an account with the software company.

Once the antivirus software is installed, you need to activate it to begin scanning for malicious software. In order to activate the majority of programs will require you to sign-up or provide personal details. This is typically optional. Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive an email confirmation or a message confirming that the antivirus program has been activated.

Depending on the antivirus program you use, you could be asked to run a full system scan or to choose a specific file or folder to scan. During the scan, it will look for and remove any malicious files or folders. Some programs will also run periodic or automatic scans to find new malware and ensure that your computer is free of threats.
