El Rego est l&rsquo;un des inspirateurs de l&rsquo;Orchestre Poly Rythmo de Cotonou. Ses titres peuvent \u00eatre chant\u00e9s en fon (la chanson Nonvi towe ku, sur le disque Hessa, veut ainsi dire \u00ab mon fr\u00e8re (ou mon ami) est mort \u00bb). Il a sorti la plupart de ses disques en 45 tours.
