Les bureaux de vote ont ouvert \u00e0 7 heures locales, marquant le d\u00e9but de cette journ\u00e9e \u00e9lectorale cruciale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le pr\u00e9sident sortant, Paul Kagam\u00e9, qui est au pouvoir depuis 24 ans, brigue un quatri\u00e8me mandat cons\u00e9cutif. Kagam\u00e9, repr\u00e9sentant du Front Patriotique Rwandais (FPR), gouverne le pays depuis la fin du g\u00e9nocide de 1994. Lors de cette campagne, il a sonn\u00e9 la mobilisation \u00e0 travers le pays avec des rassemblements \u00e0 l&rsquo;am\u00e9ricaine, attirant des milliers de partisans qui le voient comme un h\u00e9ros symbolisant la paix et le d\u00e9veloppement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Face \u00e0 Kagam\u00e9, deux candidats peinent \u00e0 inqui\u00e9ter le pr\u00e9sident sortant. Lors des \u00e9lections de 2017, Kagam\u00e9 avait remport\u00e9 plus de 98 % des voix. Philippe Mpayimana, candidat ind\u00e9pendant, et Frank Habineza, d\u00e9put\u00e9 du Parti Vert D\u00e9mocratique, avaient respectivement obtenu \u00e0 peine plus de 0,7 % et moins de 0,5 % des voix. Cette ann\u00e9e, ils affirment avoir men\u00e9 leurs campagnes dans de bonnes conditions, mais la diff\u00e9rence de popularit\u00e9 reste notable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces \u00e9lections sont observ\u00e9es de pr\u00e8s par la communaut\u00e9 internationale, int\u00e9ress\u00e9e par la stabilit\u00e9 et le d\u00e9veloppement du Rwanda sous Kagam\u00e9.
