Le chol\u00e9ra touche le continent africain. 14 pays d’Afrique sont en situation de crise urgente en 2024 alerte l’OMS. Il s’agit des pays comme l’Afrique du Sud, Burundi, Cameroun, Comores, \u00c9thiopie, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nig\u00e9ria, Ouganda, R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo, R\u00e9publique-Unie de Tanzanie, Zambie et Zimbabwe). Trois pays dont les Comores, la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo (RDC) et l’\u00c9thiopie – sont actuellement consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme \u00e9tant en situation de crise aigu\u00eb. Les raisons principales de cette crise \u00e9pidermique sont dues \u00e0 la saison pluvieuse. En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne El Nino a provoqu\u00e9 \u00e0 la fois des s\u00e9cheresses (Zambie, Zimbabwe) et une augmentation des niveaux de pr\u00e9cipitations, provoquant des inondations et des glissements de terrain dans certaines communaut\u00e9s (Kenya, Tanzanie).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En mai 2024, onze pays – Burundi, Comores, R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo, \u00c9thiopie, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, R\u00e9publique-Unie de Tanzanie, Ouganda, Zambie et Zimbabwe – ont signal\u00e9 un total de 13 247 nouveaux cas et 126 d\u00e9c\u00e8s (CFR = 1,0 %).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
