Objectif, lutter contre l\u2019exploitation min\u00e9rale illicite dans la r\u00e9gion. Men\u00e9e au Burkina Faso, en Gambie, en Guin\u00e9e et au S\u00e9n\u00e9gal. Cette initiative, baptis\u00e9e \u00ab Sanu \u00bb, a \u00e9galement conduit \u00e0 la saisie de substances et \u00e9quipements dangereux.<br>Lors de cette op\u00e9ration, la police a confisqu\u00e9 150 kilos de cyanure, 325 kilos de charbon actif, ainsi que divers engins explosifs et drogues. Ces produits chimiques, utilis\u00e9s dans l\u2019extraction ill\u00e9gale de l\u2019or, repr\u00e9sentent une menace significative pour l\u2019environnement et la sant\u00e9 des populations locales. Leur manipulation et leur d\u00e9versement non contr\u00f4l\u00e9s contaminent les sols, les eaux et mettent en p\u00e9ril les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes.<br>L\u2019op\u00e9ration Sanu illustre l\u2019importance de la coop\u00e9ration internationale dans la lutte contre les crimes environnementaux. Outre l\u2019implication d\u2019Interpol, le minist\u00e8re de l\u2019Int\u00e9rieur du Royaume-Uni a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 dans cette initiative. L\u2019objectif principal \u00e9tait de d\u00e9manteler les r\u00e9seaux criminels \u00e0 l\u2019origine de ces activit\u00e9s illicites et de sensibiliser les autorit\u00e9s locales \u00e0 leurs cons\u00e9quences.<br>L\u2019op\u00e9ration a \u00e9galement marqu\u00e9 une premi\u00e8re dans la lutte contre l\u2019extraction ill\u00e9gale de sable en Gambie.
