Dans une d\u00e9cision inattendue, les autorit\u00e9s am\u00e9ricaines ont ordonn\u00e9 aux Centres pour le contr\u00f4le et la pr\u00e9vention des maladies (CDC) de cesser toute collaboration avec l’Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 (OMS), \u00e0 compter du dimanche 26 janvier 2025. Cette directive, r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e par une note interne adress\u00e9e au personnel du CDC, pourrait perturber les efforts internationaux de lutte contre les \u00e9pid\u00e9mies.
La note, \u00e9mise dimanche soir, demande \u00e0 tous les membres du CDC engag\u00e9s dans des projets avec l’OMS de suspendre imm\u00e9diatement leurs activit\u00e9s en attendant de nouvelles instructions. Cette d\u00e9cision refl\u00e8te une dynamique tendue entre les \u00c9tats-Unis et l’organisation mondiale, souvent critiqu\u00e9e par l’ancien pr\u00e9sident Donald Trump. Dans une d\u00e9claration rappel\u00e9e r\u00e9cemment, Trump a justifi\u00e9 la pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente suspension du financement am\u00e9ricain \u00e0 l\u2019OMS par une r\u00e9partition qu’il jugeait injuste des contributions financi\u00e8res. \u00ab La Chine, avec ses 1,4 milliard d\u2019habitants, payait 39 millions de dollars, tandis que nous en versions 500 millions. Cela m\u2019a sembl\u00e9 in\u00e9quitable \u00bb, a-t-il affirm\u00e9.
Cette suspension de la collaboration pourrait ralentir les efforts critiques dans la lutte contre des \u00e9pid\u00e9mies \u00e9mergentes. Actuellement, les \u00e9quipes internationales, en partenariat avec l’OMS, se concentrent sur les enqu\u00eates li\u00e9es au virus de Marburg et au mpox en Afrique. La r\u00e9duction de l\u2019engagement des \u00c9tats-Unis, l\u2019un des principaux contributeurs en expertise et en financement, pourrait affecter ces initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
