Gabriel Aluwasegun Olanrewaju, alias \u00ab\u00a0Success\u00a0\u00bb, s&rsquo;est effondr\u00e9 en plein combat avant de succomber quelques heures plus tard \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital universitaire de Korle Bu, \u00e0 Accra, le dimanche 30 mars.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le boxeur nig\u00e9rian de 40 ans affrontait le Ghan\u00e9en Jonathan \u00ab\u00a0Power for Power\u00a0\u00bb Mbanugu lors d\u2019un combat international de huit rounds, organis\u00e9 par Osibor Boxing Promotions. Le choc, disput\u00e9 \u00e0 Accra, s&rsquo;est arr\u00eat\u00e9 brusquement au troisi\u00e8me round lorsque Olanrewaju a perdu l&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre avant de s&rsquo;effondrer sur le ring. L&rsquo;arbitre Richard Amevi a imm\u00e9diatement stopp\u00e9 le combat et fait intervenir le m\u00e9decin du ring ainsi que l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe m\u00e9dicale d&rsquo;urgence. Transport\u00e9 d&rsquo;urgence \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital, le boxeur nig\u00e9rian n\u2019a pas surv\u00e9cu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originaire de Lagos, Gabriel Olanrewaju affichait un bilan de 23 combats professionnels, comptant 13 victoires, 8 d\u00e9faites et 2 matchs nuls. Il avait un impressionnant taux de KO de 92,31 %. Class\u00e9 448e mondial et 7e au Nigeria dans la cat\u00e9gorie des poids lourds-l\u00e9gers, il \u00e9tait un adversaire respect\u00e9 sur le circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suite \u00e0 ce drame, la Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) et Osibor Boxing Promotions ont imm\u00e9diatement alert\u00e9 les autorit\u00e9s.
