Selon l\u2019UNICEF, les violences sexuelles touchant les enfants atteignent un niveau alarmant : un enfant est victime de viol toutes les 30 minutes. Cette r\u00e9v\u00e9lation gla\u00e7ante a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite vendredi par le porte-parole du Secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019ONU, St\u00e9phane Dujarric.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre janvier et f\u00e9vrier 2025, plus de 10 000 cas de violences sexuelles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9s dans cette r\u00e9gion d\u00e9vast\u00e9e par le conflit, et pr\u00e8s de la moiti\u00e9 des victimes seraient des enfants. Ces chiffres soulignent l\u2019impact dramatique de l\u2019intensification des combats entre les forces arm\u00e9es congolaises et les rebelles du M23, responsables de l\u2019occupation de Goma en janvier, puis de Bukavu en f\u00e9vrier. Les affrontements ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 caus\u00e9 la mort d\u2019environ 3 000 personnes et provoqu\u00e9 le d\u00e9placement de plus de 7 millions de civils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Face \u00e0 cette spirale de violences, l\u2019UNICEF lance un cri d\u2019alarme. L\u2019organisation affirme que l\u2019ampleur des abus d\u00e9passe d\u00e9sormais les capacit\u00e9s d\u2019intervention humanitaire. Elle d\u00e9plore \u00e9galement un manque critique de financements, entravant les efforts de protection \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de centaines de milliers d\u2019enfants expos\u00e9s \u00e0 des exactions inou\u00efes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Des pourparlers de paix ont \u00e9t\u00e9 engag\u00e9s au Qatar entre le gouvernement congolais et les rebelles du M23, que l\u2019ONU accuse d\u2019\u00eatre soutenus par environ 4 000 soldats rwandais.
