Objectif : combler le d\u00e9ficit en prot\u00e9ines animales et moderniser le secteur. La d\u00e9cision a \u00e9t\u00e9 prise en conseil des ministres de ce mercredi 02 juillet 2025.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selon les derni\u00e8res donn\u00e9es officielles, la production nationale de viande ne couvre que 49,3 % des besoins du pays. Bien que ce taux ait connu une progression ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, il demeure insuffisant pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande croissante en prot\u00e9ines animales. Ce d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre s&rsquo;explique notamment par des pratiques d\u2019\u00e9levage archa\u00efques, la pr\u00e9pond\u00e9rance de races peu performantes, une alimentation inadapt\u00e9e des animaux et un d\u00e9ficit en investissements modernes.Conscient de l\u2019enjeu, le gouvernement b\u00e9ninois a fait de la fili\u00e8re viande une priorit\u00e9 strat\u00e9gique. Plusieurs programmes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 initi\u00e9s pour renforcer la production locale. Toutefois, leur efficacit\u00e9 est frein\u00e9e par un manque de coordination, des lourdeurs administratives et des proc\u00e9dures d\u2019ex\u00e9cution peu adapt\u00e9es, notamment en mati\u00e8re de passation de march\u00e9s publics.Pour pallier ces insuffisances, une nouvelle agence d\u00e9di\u00e9e au d\u00e9veloppement de l\u2019\u00e9levage des ruminants a \u00e9t\u00e9 mise en place. Elle aura pour mission d\u2019optimiser les ressources du secteur, d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la performance des interventions et de simplifier les proc\u00e9dures administratives et financi\u00e8res. Cette r\u00e9forme vise \u00e0 structurer davantage la fili\u00e8re et \u00e0 renforcer son impact sur la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire nationale.Le ministre de l\u2019\u00c9conomie et des Finances ainsi que celui de l\u2019Agriculture, de l\u2019\u00c9levage et de la P\u00eache sont charg\u00e9s de rendre op\u00e9rationnelle cette nouvelle structure dans les meilleurs d\u00e9lais.
