Au total, 80 dossiers ont \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9s, \u00e9tablissant un record sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent dans l\u2019histoire \u00e9lectorale du pays.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parmi les pr\u00e9tendants \u00e0 la magistrature supr\u00eame figure l\u2019incontournable Paul Biya. \u00c2g\u00e9 de 92 ans et au pouvoir depuis 1982, le pr\u00e9sident sortant veut briguer un huiti\u00e8me mandat cons\u00e9cutif sous la banni\u00e8re du Rassemblement D\u00e9mocratique du Peuple Camerounais (RDPC). \u00c0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s, des leaders bien connus comme Maurice Kamto du Mouvement pour la Renaissance du Cameroun (MRC) et Joshua Osih du Social Democratic Front (SDF) comptent \u00e9galement se mesurer aux urnes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette \u00e9lection s\u2019annonce aussi comme celle du renouvellement, avec la participation notable de nouvelles figures politiques, jusqu\u2019ici peu m\u00e9diatis\u00e9es, qui aspirent \u00e0 incarner une alternative pour l\u2019avenir du pays. La candidature de plusieurs femmes constitue \u00e9galement un fait marquant de cette pr\u00e9sidentielle, contribuant \u00e0 diversifier une course souvent domin\u00e9e par les hommes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La balle est d\u00e9sormais dans le camp de la Cour constitutionnelle, seule habilit\u00e9e \u00e0 valider les candidatures.
