Cette nouvelle op\u00e9ration de surveillance maritime intervient dans un contexte marqu\u00e9 par la recrudescence des tentatives d\u2019\u00e9migration irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re depuis les c\u00f4tes ouest-africaines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selon des sources s\u00e9curitaires, les passagers de l\u2019embarcation, majoritairement de nationalit\u00e9 s\u00e9n\u00e9galaise comprenaient des femmes, des enfants et des jeunes hommes, visiblement en qu\u00eate d\u2019un avenir meilleur. La pirogue, de type artisanal aurait pris la mer dans la nuit de lundi \u00e0 mardi, esp\u00e9rant rejoindre clandestinement les \u00eeles Canaries. Ces \u00eeles sont souvent utilis\u00e9es comme porte d\u2019entr\u00e9e vers l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019intervention a \u00e9t\u00e9 rendue possible gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la mobilisation rapide des unit\u00e9s navales, dans le cadre du dispositif national de lutte contre l\u2019\u00e9migration irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re.
