Cette arrestation survient dans un contexte politique d\u00e9j\u00e0 sous tension au B\u00e9nin.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ancien alli\u00e9 du pr\u00e9sident Patrice Talon, Candide Azanna\u00ef s\u2019est impos\u00e9 ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es comme l\u2019une des voix les plus critiques du pouvoir. D\u00e9put\u00e9 de la sixi\u00e8me l\u00e9gislature et fondateur du parti Restaurer l\u2019Espoir, il a occup\u00e9 le poste de ministre d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9 \u00e0 la D\u00e9fense au d\u00e9but du premier mandat de Patrice Talon en 2016. La relation entre les deux hommes s\u2019\u00e9tait brutalement d\u00e9t\u00e9rior\u00e9e le 28 mars 2017, lorsque Candide Azanna\u00ef avait pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 sa d\u00e9mission du gouvernement en pleine controverse nationale autour de la r\u00e9forme constitutionnelle.
