Un ratio tr\u00e8s \u00e9loign\u00e9 du seuil de un m\u00e9decin pour 1 000 habitants g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement recommand\u00e9 comme r\u00e9f\u00e9rence par l\u2019Organisation mondiale de la Sant\u00e9 (OMS).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">D\u2019apr\u00e8s un rapport publi\u00e9 mardi par l\u2019UMDPC, 7 871 m\u00e9decins disposent d\u2019une licence d\u2019exercice pour l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2026. Pourtant, le nombre total de m\u00e9decins enregistr\u00e9s aupr\u00e8s de l\u2019institution atteint 10 951. cela signifie qu\u2019une partie importante des praticiens inscrits ne d\u00e9tient pas d\u2019autorisation d\u2019exercer cette ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cette situation intervient alors que la population ougandaise devrait d\u00e9passer les 50 millions d\u2019habitants d\u2019ici \u00e0 la fin de 2026, accentuant la pression sur un syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 d\u00e9j\u00e0 confront\u00e9 \u00e0 un d\u00e9ficit de personnel et \u00e0 une demande croissante de soins.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le chiffre de 7 871 m\u00e9decins ne signifie pas pour autant que tous travaillent directement aupr\u00e8s des patients dans les h\u00f4pitaux publics. Le Conseil pr\u00e9cise que ces professionnels exercent \u00e9galement dans le secteur priv\u00e9, les institutions sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es, les universit\u00e9s, la recherche ou d\u2019autres domaines. Certains peuvent \u00e9galement travailler \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La situation est par ailleurs aggrav\u00e9e par une r\u00e9partition in\u00e9gale des m\u00e9decins sur le territoire, laissant certaines zones davantage expos\u00e9es au manque de personnel qualifi\u00e9. L\u2019efficacit\u00e9 du syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 ne d\u00e9pend pas uniquement du nombre de m\u00e9decins disponibles. La pr\u00e9sence d\u2019infirmiers, de sages-femmes, de pharmaciens et de techniciens de laboratoire, ainsi que l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux m\u00e9dicaments, aux \u00e9quipements m\u00e9dicaux et aux infrastructures fonctionnelles, restent \u00e9galement d\u00e9terminants pour r\u00e9pondre aux besoins des patients.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Selon le recensement national de 2024, l\u2019Ouganda comptait 45,9 millions d\u2019habitants.
