Mis en cause par un officier nig\u00e9rien, Cotonou r\u00e9affirme son opposition \u00e0 toute tentative de d\u00e9stabilisation du Niger et maintient sa volont\u00e9 de renouer le dialogue avec Niamey.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le B\u00e9nin prend ses distances avec les accusations formul\u00e9es depuis Niamey. Alors qu\u2019un officier nig\u00e9rien a \u00e9voqu\u00e9 l\u2019implication pr\u00e9sum\u00e9e de plusieurs pays dans les \u00e9v\u00e9nements survenus \u00e0 la base a\u00e9rienne 101, le gouvernement b\u00e9ninois assure ne jouer aucun r\u00f4le dans une quelconque op\u00e9ration visant \u00e0 d\u00e9stabiliser le Niger. La mise au point a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite ce vendredi 4 septembre 2026 \u00e0 Cotonou par le ministre et Porte-parole du gouvernement, Wilfried L\u00e9andre Houngb\u00e9dji, lors d\u2019une rencontre avec la presse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le porte-parole du gouvernement b\u00e9ninois a rejet\u00e9 les accusations visant Cotonou et r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 la position constante des autorit\u00e9s b\u00e9ninoises. \u00ab Pour les m\u00eames raisons qui ont fait qu\u2019hier nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 contre la d\u00e9stabilisation du Niger, pour ces m\u00eames raisons, nous sommes contre la d\u00e9stabilisation du Niger aujourd\u2019hui et nous le serons demain \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Wilfried L\u00e9andre Houngb\u00e9dji.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pour le gouvernement b\u00e9ninois, cette position s&rsquo;explique notamment par les liens historiques et sociaux entre les populations des deux pays. \u00ab Ce sont nos fr\u00e8res, ce sont nos parents, les populations sont les m\u00eames de part et d&rsquo;autre des fronti\u00e8res et nous avons vocation \u00e0 coexister pacifiquement pour le bien de nos pays, pour le bien de nos populations \u00bb, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ces d\u00e9clarations interviennent apr\u00e8s un t\u00e9moignage diffus\u00e9 le 1er septembre 2026 sur la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision nationale nig\u00e9rienne. Le capitaine Roger Gabriel, du 1er Bataillon parachutiste, y a \u00e9voqu\u00e9 de possibles soutiens ext\u00e9rieurs aux acteurs impliqu\u00e9s dans les affrontements survenus \u00e0 la base a\u00e9rienne 101 de Niamey. Dans son intervention, l&rsquo;officier a notamment cit\u00e9 le B\u00e9nin, la C\u00f4te d&rsquo;Ivoire, le Tchad et la France. Ces accusations n&rsquo;ont toutefois pas \u00e9t\u00e9 accompagn\u00e9es, dans le t\u00e9moignage diffus\u00e9, d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ments permettant d&rsquo;en \u00e9tablir ind\u00e9pendamment le bien-fond\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Malgr\u00e9 ces accusations, Cotonou ne souhaite pas engager une nouvelle confrontation verbale avec les autorit\u00e9s nig\u00e9riennes. Le gouvernement b\u00e9ninois entend plut\u00f4t poursuivre sa d\u00e9marche en faveur d&rsquo;une normalisation des relations entre les deux pays.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00ab J&rsquo;esp\u00e8re qu&rsquo;on ne reviendra pas dire encore apr\u00e8s-demain que le B\u00e9nin man\u0153uvre pour des objectifs du genre de ce qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9voqu\u00e9 et dans lesquels, \u00e9videmment, nous ne nous retrouverons nullement \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le porte-parole du gouvernement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pour les autorit\u00e9s b\u00e9ninoises, la ligne reste donc inchang\u00e9e. Pas d&rsquo;implication dans une op\u00e9ration de d\u00e9stabilisation du Niger, opposition \u00e0 toute tentative de renversement de l&rsquo;ordre \u00e9tabli.
