Le Comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif de la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration africaine de football (Caf) a valid\u00e9 ce retour \u00e0 l\u2019ancien calendrier \u00e0 l\u2019unanimit\u00e9, ce vendredi 30 octobre 2026. Cette d\u00e9cision met fin au projet de passage \u00e0 une p\u00e9riodicit\u00e9 de quatre ans, annonc\u00e9 en d\u00e9cembre 2025, et relance le d\u00e9bat sur l\u2019organisation des comp\u00e9titions continentales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La prochaine \u00e9dition reste programm\u00e9e en 2027 au Kenya, en Tanzanie et en Ouganda. La CAf pr\u00e9voit ensuite des rendez-vous en 2028, 2031 et 2033. L\u2019intervalle de trois ans entre les \u00e9ditions de 2028 et de 2031 tient compte de la Coupe du monde 2030, afin d\u2019\u00e9viter la tenue des deux comp\u00e9titions la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ce revirement vient apr\u00e8s plusieurs mois d\u2019interrogations autour de la r\u00e9forme du calendrier. En d\u00e9cembre 2025, le pr\u00e9sident de la Caf, Patrice Motsepe, avait annonc\u00e9 que la Can passerait \u00e0 un cycle quadriennal \u00e0 partir de 2028. Le projet devait s\u2019accompagner de la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une Ligue des nations africaine, appel\u00e9e \u00e0 soutenir le financement et le d\u00e9veloppement du football sur le continent. Mais les garanties attendues autour de cette nouvelle comp\u00e9tition ont suscit\u00e9 des r\u00e9serves. Cette d\u00e9cision est salu\u00e9e par Gernot Rohr, s\u00e9lectionneur de l\u2019\u00e9quipe nationale du B\u00e9nin. Pour lui, la Can repr\u00e9sente un rendez-vous majeur du football africain, dont les supporters et les acteurs ne devraient pas \u00eatre priv\u00e9s pendant quatre ann\u00e9es. Il estime aussi que la comp\u00e9tition g\u00e9n\u00e8re des retomb\u00e9es \u00e9conomiques utiles aux f\u00e9d\u00e9rations et au d\u00e9veloppement des infrastructures sportives.
